Northern Illinois of University:
The Department of Computer Science at NIU teaches the full extent of computer science. Students from all walks of life are accounted for; the program follows the changes in industry for business careers as well as providing both introductory and advanced courses for in core and specialty areas.
Courses are offered for non-majors interested in either an introduction to computing or for interdisciplinary careers. A minor in in computer science is also a possibility for these students.
Graduates from NIU find success; they work at industries and research organizations throughout the United States. Many CS students also receive internships or permanent positions when recruiters come to NIU.
Illinois State University:
At Illinois State, a CS degree surrounds theory, abstraction, and design, in traditional and current areas. Graduates from the
school are provided with preparation to work at companies with focuses around science or engineering. Students that graduate are
also prepared for graduate studies in CS.
The program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
